WHAT IS A PARALEGAL?

A Paralegal is a legal professional who works under the supervision of a lawyer and performs tasks such as legal research, drafting legal documents, and assisting with client communication.

COMPUTER PRACTICE N4-N5

Computer practice is the study of integrated components of a computer system (hardware and software), practical techniques for efficient use and application to solve everyday problems. The qualification provides an opportunity to access typist,office administration,secretarial, receptionist, and personal assistant careers. The person who will make a success of a career in adminstration or as management assitant is a person that is organised and methodical.

Summary of Modules

(Wills & Estates)

This comprehensive course testate succession,drafting of Wills and Codicils,executor formalities,and revocation of Wills. It covers principles of Intestate Succession,competent heirs,distribution per stripes and per capita.

 

(Debt Collection and Civil Litigation)

The course covers legal procedures for debt recovery,including summonses,letters of demand,judgements, warrants, execution orders,and security forms. It covers pre-trial preparation,precedents, magistrates' and high court rules,and the Consumer Protection and Debt Collectors Acts.

(Property Law)

This course covers aspects of real estate and assets that are part of a person's estate. The student will have an understanding of how to construct formal documentation pertaining to agreements and terms pertaining to a person's ownership 

(Legal Writing)

Legal Writing involves careful word choice,accurate phrases,and well-constructed sentences. this comprehensive course equips students with the tools to create suitable legal documents like letters,pleadings,and debt collecting. 

(Labour Law)

This Course explores employer-employee relationships,legislation ,rights,obligations and  new developments in the Labour Relations Amendment Bill and Basic Conditions of Employment Bill.

(Family Law and Divorce)

This course explores enagement,breach of promise,marriage,property consequenses,accrual system,ante-nuptial contract,divorce grounds,procedures,maintenace,custody,child guardianship,new Child Care Act provisions and recent changes to civil Marriages.

(CONVEYANCING)

Conveyancing is the legal process that takes place when lawful owenership is obtained of immovable property.In this course the student will be exposed to the documentation required and the steps involved in completing the legal process to obtain ownership. 

Course Structure

The course is offered on a part-time basis

When: January–June 

Time: Saturdays, 08:00 am - 12:00 am

An additional 6 months is optional and  includes assistance with legal matters and student enquiries on the course covered

Classes will be held in person and will be lecture-based.

*Matric Certificate or equivalent Tertiary Education

* Practical experience 

*Students over 25 will be considered without a Matric

OUR TRAINING PROGRAMME

You will attend a day seminar on registration. Upon registration you will receive our comprehensive training manual and practical guide.

On completion of the one day seminar, further on-site and off-site training can be arranged. You will have achieved knowledge on the fundamental aspects of the syllabus. This knowledge and guidance will then be applied to your practical and real exposure to the legal world.

For a whopping 12 months after completion of the program we will further empower your knowledge with a help line to guide you in your practice. this will provide valuable assistance and guidance in your career as a paralegal.

  • Registration is open from 30 November 2024 - 15 January 2025
  • There is no entrance examination applicable.
  • Full support and training will be given throughout the course.
  • Upon completion of the course, a Diploma will be issued as proof of legal training.

  • The total cost for the year is R20,000.
  • A payment arrangement can be made
  • A Deposit is required. 

ACCREDITATION

All legal documentation correctly filled in

(according to the Magistrates' Courts procedure)

will be accepted by the courts throughout South Africa.
